Louis XVI Style Walnut Display Cabinet – Late 19th Century. An elegant Louis XVI style walnut display cabinet, French work from the late 19th century. It opens with a small-paned glass door (twelve panes), framed by fluted and reeded uprights. The pediment is adorned with a carved frieze featuring beadwork and corner rosettes, typical of the Louis XVI style. The lower section has a molded solid panel. The whole rests on four toupie feet. The interior, also in walnut, includes three shelves offering ample display space for porcelain, glassware, or collectibles. The walnut has a beautiful warm patina with fine and regular grain. A sound, stable, and decorative piece of furniture with harmonious proportions. Period: late 19th century, circa 1880–1900. Very good overall condition.
