Important Provençal Mirror With Side Panels, 18th Century, Louis XVI Period
Large and beautiful carved and gilded wooden mirror, retaining its original gilding, set within a rectangular frame with rich openwork decoration of interlacing patterns, beaded friezes, and laurel garlands. The upper section is openwork and adorned with acanthus leaves, a ribbon bow, and a pair of doves pecking at each other... probably a Louis XVI period mirror, late 18th century, Provençal, with its antique mirrors and backgrounds. An elegant model, with a very attractive patina, though showing some wear and tear. Restoration is possible in our workshop; a quote will be provided, with the price reflecting the condition.
