Léonard Foujita (1886–1966), French painter of Japanese origin Head of Christ with a Halo (1966)
Ink and ink wash drawing with gold watercolor, signed and dated (66) at the bottom center on thin paper. Dimensions: 12.5 x 8.4 cm. Foujita converted to Catholicism in 1959, experiencing what he described as a spiritual awakening at the Basilica of Saint-Remi in Reims. He was baptized in the same basilica on October 14, 1966.
