"Vosges Wooden Box - Folk Art - 19th Century"
Wooden box originating from the High Vosges Mountains - Folk art - 19th century. Rectangular box/casket, possibly for a wedding, lacemaker, or "catch-all," made of wood carved with geometric shapes. Rustic hinges made of wire. Closes with a hook and ring. Made of beech wood. Compartmented box. Good condition. Some woodworm holes (treated wood). Width 35 cm, depth 20.5 cm, height 11.5 cm.
