"Jacques Simon, Still Life With Bouquet"
Jacques Simon, a French painter and illustrator, studied under William Bouguereau and Gabriel Ferrier at the Académie Julian and the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris. He illustrated the works of Eugène Fromentin, Roger Vercel, Georges Duhamel, Roland Dorgelès, and Léo Larguier. A recipient of numerous medals at the Salons, he was a painter of nature, seascapes, the Norman countryside, and Orientalist works. "Still Life with Bouquet," oil on panel, signed lower right. 98 x 82 cm with frame, 84 x 67 cm without frame.
