Raymond Thibésart began his studies at the Lycée Rollin in Paris, then at the École des Beaux-Arts in 1894 and at the Académie Julian. His teachers, Jules Lefèvre and Tony Robert Fleury, introduced him to the Symbolist movement, an influence that would be evident during the first part of the artist's career.
