A very elegant kilim originating from the Sivas region of Anatolia. This piece is handwoven with wool (weft) over cotton (warp). The weave is fine and tight, making the piece supple and quite lightweight. The composition, organized into four sets of three stars, creates a striking and highly decorative graphic effect. The design is immediately recognizable. Beautiful natural and earthy hues in shades of ochre red, brick, sandy yellow, and a striking black. Some motifs are outlined in pristine white cotton.
