Late 18th-century Engraving: Joseph Bara
The tragic death of a teenager, enlisted in the revolutionary armies, whose small stature made him ideal for infiltrating enemy lines, particularly for stealing horses, was exploited to illustrate the enemy's cruelty. Engraved by Alix, after a work by Garnerey, it remains a beautiful engraving from this terrible period. It is presented here in a period Louis XVI frame with beading, mounted on a base (two small beads are missing).
