"18th Century, 18th Century Period"
Pair of Louis XVI Candelabra with Dogs. Rare model, France, circa 1795. A rare pair of Louis XVI two-light candelabra in finely chased gilt bronze with foliate scrolls and twisted stems. The central shaft, shaped like a pedestal vase, is adorned with two mascarons holding a garland of flowers, a typical composition of the late 18th century. The whole is surmounted by two sculpted bronze dogs with a dark patina, providing an elegant contrast to the gilding and giving this model a highly sought-after decorative and symbolic character. The square base is made of gray Sainte-Anne marble, enriched with an applied frieze of finely sculpted gilt bronze, ensuring stability and refinement. A high-quality French work, datable to around 1795, reflecting the Neoclassical taste of the transitional period between Louis XVI and the Directory. Dimensions: Height: 50 cm Condition: Very good condition, with a beautifully patinated gilding. ✔️ Careful professional packaging ✔️ Signed certificate ✔️ Free delivery by Galerie De Cicco
