Early 19th Century Silver Ewer

A very fine solid silver ewer, ovoid in shape, with a zoomorphic spout (eagle's head), claw feet with applied foliage attachments, and an ebony handle, early 19th century, circa 1820.

Hallmarks: - Vieillard Paris (1819-1838), 1st standard (950/1000),
- Ceres head hallmark (large guarantee of Paris),
- no maker's mark. Weight 738 grams, height 29-30 cm.
