Large Incense Burner From The Longquan Kilns. Ming Dynasty
Superb tripod incense burner in porcelain stoneware from the Longquan kilns. These kilns are renowned for their high-quality celadon glazes, a green reminiscent of jade. Ming Dynasty, between the 15th and 16th centuries. Stylized plant motifs decorate the exterior. The glaze is a pure, crackled green, becoming lighter towards the rim. The interior of the burner is unglazed. The burner rests on three large, straight-cut feet. There is no glaze on the underside. A crack runs across one side, and there is a tiny chip in the glaze.
