Composed of four glazed doors, four fluted columns with asparagus motifs surmounted by Corinthian capitals. The lower section has four solid doors, the moldings carved with heart motifs. The Fourdinois firm is very important to the history of 19th-century cabinetmaking, but also to the history of taste of its time, then characterized by "neo-styles". In just two generations, Alexandre-Georges Fourdinois (1799-1871) and then his son Henri-Auguste (1830-1907), the Fourdinois firm enjoyed numerous successes at world's fairs, becoming the benchmark in luxury cabinetmaking for the clientele of a lavish Second Empire.
