Egyptian Faience Ushabti (Shabti) with Turquoise Blue Glaze
Ancient Egypt, Late Period

Height: 14.3 cm

Mummiform ushabti figure with arms crossed over the chest, holding the characteristic agricultural implements (hoes). The face, with stylized features, is framed by a tripartite wig.

The body is covered with hieroglyphic inscriptions arranged in horizontal registers.

The glaze displays an attractive ancient patina, with wear and small losses consistent with the age of the object. Visible deposits and minor surface alterations; no apparent restoration.

Mounted on a modern removable ebony (black wood) base.

Good overall condition. Wear, minor chips and ancient losses, as well as superficial concretions.

All my objects for sale can be viewed in Issy-les-Moulineaux.
