Maurice Barle, 1903-1961, was a French painter of seascapes and harbor scenes. He studied at the École Nationale des Beaux-Arts in Paris. He exhibited from 1926 onwards at the Salon des Indépendants and the Salon d'Hiver in Paris. This native Parisian was drawn to the Mediterranean and its light from a very young age. He quickly specialized in depicting the ports and seaside resorts of Provence, the French Riviera, and Corsica. He also produced several seascapes and Orientalist landscapes. He received the Silver Medal of the City of Paris in 1962. Listed in the Bénézit, Artprice, Artnet, Akoun, etc.,
