Death mask of Napoleon I, first plaster cast from the late 19th or early 20th century. Known as the Antommarchi mask or official mask. Good overall condition, with an old patina, stains, scratches, and minor losses. Napoleon's death mask was made two days after the emperor's death on May 5, 1821. The mask was created by physicians Francis Burton and François Antommarchi at the request of Countess Bertrand. Several other masks exist.
