A commode with canted corners, in veneered wood, inlaid with garlands, opening to three drawers, two of which are without a crossbar, richly ornamented with gilt bronze mounts, marble top. This elegant commode bears a label from the Chrenheim collection, dated 1804. It is the work of Georg Haupt (1741-1784), a renowned cabinetmaker at the Swedish court and one of the principal founders of the Gustavian style. With an impeccable finish, his creations are embellished with unique materials.
