Cesare Toso table lamp in the shape of a basket filled with Murano glass grapes. The arms are adorned with brass leaves and glass flowers. Globe and dome in the form of a bunch of grapes. Working wiring. Circa 1970. Dimensions: H 56 W 50 D 24 cm. Cesare Toso was born in 1910 on the island of Murano, and began learning the craft of a master glassblower as a child. Even as a child, he was immersed in the magical atmosphere of the Murano glassworks. At the age of 18, he began working at the renowned "Vetreria Capelan," a leading name at the time in the production of Murano blown glass chandeliers, where he earned the title of Master Glassmaker. His technical skills developed alongside his artistic expression. Cesare Toso then joined "Vetreria Morassi e C." where he worked until 1946. That same year, he founded "Vetreria Toso Cesare," where he prepared for the future by teaching his son Edilio all the secrets of the craft. The company Cesare Toso srl closed in 2017.
