Claire Bianchi (born in 1963) Water Shiver Oil on canvas, signed lower right Dimensions: 60 x 92 cm Biography from the artist's website: Claire Bianchi was born in 1963 in Cherbourg. Trained as a graphic designer and illustrator at the École Estienne in Paris, she settled in 1993 in Saint-Mammès, on the banks of the Seine and the Loing rivers, where she works today, devoting herself entirely to oil painting. She practices an expressionist and gestural style of painting inspired by her surroundings and her many travels, based on a constant observation of nature, a work of memory and transcription imbued with the feelings experienced through color and light. Depth, surface, and verticality have gradually led her to expand her formats and to pertinently question the creation of a pictorial surface that is both frontal and transparent. From the 2000s onwards, she exhibited her work very regularly in solo or group exhibitions, in France and abroad.
