Rare 93-piece sterling silver flatware set, "Bittersweet" pattern.
This pattern was created in 1940 by designer Gundorph Albertus, who also created the famous Cactus (Kaktus) pattern of 1930. Bittersweet (also called Pinje in Danish) is often considered the "sister" of the Cactus pattern: it shares an organic and naturalistic inspiration, with fluid and elegant forms inspired by nature (here, evoking bittersweet leaves or plants, hence the name "Bittersweet").
Hallmarked "Sterling Denmark" 950/1000.
