Pair Of 19th-century Majolica Planters
Pair of Figurative Barbotine Planters – Sleeping Child – 19th Century. Pair of polychrome barbotine planters, decorated with a figurative image of a sleeping child in a pastoral landscape (sheaves of wheat, foliage, sickle). Beautifully crafted in high relief, with nuanced green, ochre, and blue glazes. France, late 19th century (circa 1880/1900). Good overall condition. Note: an old repair to the neck of one of the figures, without repainting; an old and stable restoration. Minor glaze cracks consistent with age. A beautiful decorative set, rare as a pair.
