"Pair Of Regency Period Corner Cabinets - Stamped Carel"
Pair of Regency period corner cabinets, mid-18th century. Only one of these corner cabinets bears the stamp "CAREL". Jacques-Philippe Carel (1688–1755) was a Parisian cabinetmaker, admitted to the cabinetmakers' guild in 1723. The stamped corner cabinet has a geometric design in mahogany, featuring a lozenge on each door. On each side, the uprights are decorated with two brass moldings, and the rounded lower section is also adorned with a brass molding. It has two doors, a well-organized interior, two shelves, and a mahogany back panel. Dimensions: Height: 81.5 cm, Depth: 56.5 cm. The second corner cabinet also has a geometric design in mahogany. Opening with two doors, neat interior fittings, two shelves, mahogany back panel. Dimensions: Height: 82.5 cm Depth: 57.5 cm. These two corner cabinets retain their original marble tops, "Rouge de France" marble, from Mayenne. Their locks and keys are also original. French polish applied by our workshop to both pieces.
