The decree of February 2, 1842, authorized the construction of a suspension bridge over the Tarn River at Layrac-sur-Tarn, serving the main road No. 1. It was opened to traffic on September 24, 1844, and the concession and associated toll were supposed to expire on January 6, 1844, a period of 39 years and 3 months.
This suspension bridge was swept away by floods of the Tarn and Agout rivers in 1930.
