Grenoble-style Slant-front Desk In Cherry Wood, 18th Century
A cherrywood slant-front desk opening to reveal a stepped interior with six drawers and a secret compartment. This Grenoble piece, in the style of Hache, features end-grain marquetry of violet wood. The desk has three curved drawers on the front, inlaid on all sides. The original keyhole escutcheons and bronze mounts are gilt-finished. The desk can be placed in the center of a room thanks to its sculpted back; a very fine piece of craftsmanship. Louis XV period, 18th century. Dimensions: 106 cm long x 107 cm high x 60 cm deep
