Pair Of Devotional Plaques From Trapani, Late 17th/early 18th Century
Important pair of devotional plaques from the late 17th/early 18th century, originating from Trapani. They are made of embossed and chased gilded copper. The entire surface is richly decorated with commas and scrolls in red coral, and in the center are figures of saints made from a branch of coral, surrounded by a silver crown. The two plaques, typical devotional objects crafted by Trapani artisans, are highly sought-after and rare, and are also in a splendid state of preservation.
