"Painting Of Saint-tropez By Henri Millet"
Louis Millet - 20th century. Marine painter. Saint-Tropez. Circa 1960. Oil on cardboard, signed lower left, titled on the reverse. The arrival in the village from the Citadel and the path to the cemetery. Specifically, from the top of the Place de la Vue and Rue Cavaillon. Almost in the center, one finds the famous bell tower of the Church of Notre Dame de l'Assomption. This bell tower embodies both the history and the authentic character of Saint-Tropez, a village whose old streets and Provençal market recall its past as a fishing port, and the local shops that were once located around it. Note the lapis lazuli blue of the Mediterranean Sea in the background, surrounded by the hills of the Gulf of Saint-Tropez. Painting only: 35 cm x 27 cm
