"Toilet Candle Holders"
These charming little toilet candlesticks are made of silver-plated metal. In the Louis XIV style, they rest on a square base with chamfered corners. The foot forms a shallow basin to catch any wax that might drip from the cylindrical candle holder, and the short stem is turned in a baluster shape. They were made in the 20th century, and the silver plating, worn on the raised areas, creates a pleasing gradient of tone. A square maker's mark, which we have not been able to decipher, is present on the base. Height 13.3 cm.
