ALLONSIUS Daniel Jacques, Study for Tribal Masks, Watercolor on paper, signed and dated 1978 lower left. Daniel ALLONSIUS was born in Paris in 1923. He is an artist who is a painter, sculptor, draftsman, and designer. He studied under Gimont at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris from 1940 to 1943. In 1946, he won the Salon d'Automne prize in Paris as a sculptor for a reclining nude. He taught at the École des Arts Appliqués in Fort-de-France. A specialist in geometry, he wrote a book in 1987 entitled "Creating with a Compass."
