18th-Century Pietà. Carved oak Pietà in relief, French work from the early 18th century, probably Burgundy with Flemish influence. The seated Virgin supports the reclining Christ in a very balanced triangular composition of great expressive intensity. Beautiful old wood, with an old restoration of the polychromy on the base. Good overall condition considering its age (some wear and minor losses).
