"Pair Of Armchairs, Empire Period – Early 19th Century"
Exquisitely sculpted, these early 19th-century armchairs exemplify the noble aesthetic of the Empire style. The solid mahogany frame, enhanced with a deep-hued burr mahogany veneer, features a symmetrical decoration of finely carved palmettes on the upper part of the backrest and on the armrests, demonstrating meticulous cabinetmaking. Their generous seats and gently inclined backs offer considerable comfort. The chairs are upholstered in a later fabric with a simple yet luminous cream checkerboard pattern, showing signs of wear. Resting on two turned and molded front legs and two saber legs at the rear, this pair combines balance and presence. Ideal for a classic setting or an interior blending antique and contemporary styles, they will appeal to lovers of period furniture seeking authentic and decorative pieces.********Period: Early 19th century.
