THIS OBJECT WAS SOLD
18th-century Rouen Earthenware, Covered Pitcher
When everyday objects arrive in perfect condition from bygone eras, it's a small miracle and a great pleasure. This pitcher, made in the 18th century in a Rouen workshop, looks as if it just came out of the shop, with its vibrant decoration and its pewter mount in pristine condition. It has clearly seen little use, which, despite being a utilitarian piece, makes it highly desirable for collectors. There are only minor chips around the base; otherwise, it's in very good condition.
