Eugène Henri Cauchois, 1850-1911, was a French painter of flowers, fruit, genre scenes, landscapes, seascapes, and still lifes. He studied under Cabanel and Duboc at the École Nationale des Beaux-Arts in Paris. He exhibited at the Paris Salon from 1874 onwards, where he won numerous awards. At the end of his life, he devoted himself to decorative painting, creating, among other works, flower panels for a school in the 7th arrondissement of Paris. He largely executed his compositions with broad, impastoed brushstrokes. Works are held in the museums of Louviers, Perpignan, and Rouen. Artist listed in the Bénézit (with a signature example) and the Schurr (Dictionary of Minor Masters), listed on Artprice, Artnet, Akoun, etc...

The painting, never cleaned, only slightly soiled, is in good condition, neither repainted nor repaired, nothing shows up under UV light.
