Carlo di Carli (1910-1999) was an Italian designer and architect who graduated in the Polytechnic in Milan in 1934. He worked in the Gio Ponti workshop and then opened his own studio and collaborated in 1940, with the Triennial of Milan. His work was mainly developed until the 1970’s by creating residences, work offices or furniture including chairs, desks and tables and his furniture was reproduced by the biggest Italian manufacturers like Cassina or Tecno. In 1954, he won the Compasso d’Oro for his design work. From 1965 to 1968, he became dean of the architecture faculty of Polytechnic in Milan and taught his profession until 1986.

His furniture is traditional in materials such as wood, glass, brass and fabric. But he invented modern and aesthetic shapes for furniture creating a link between space, material and human body.
