A charming small chest of drawers with a curved front and sides, veneered in rosewood, inlaid with a chevron pattern within borders on the front and a diamond pattern on the sides. It opens with four drawers arranged in three rows, creating the illusion of three, and rests on four small feet (minor damage). Richly ornamented with gilt bronze, it is complete with its locks and four keys.
The top is of grey marble veined with white (the rear right corner has been restored).
Stamped Jean-Charles Ellaume, received as a master in Paris in 1754, and bears the JME guild mark.
Louis XV period.
Good condition.
