A superb circular bowl in solid silver resting on a tall, richly sculpted foot. The wide basin, with its slightly flared rim, is adorned with a finely chiseled decoration of foliate scrolls, cartouches, and floral garlands, treated with alternating polished and matte surfaces, highlighting the virtuosity of the silversmithing. The baluster stem and the foot feature a particularly remarkable decoration of female masks in high relief, framed by volutes, palmettes, and vegetal motifs of neo-Renaissance inspiration, typical of the ornamental repertoire developed by the ODIOT firm in the 19th century.
The circular, tiered base is adorned with a frieze of finely chased water leaves. The piece is distinguished by the exceptional quality of the chasing, the depth of the reliefs, and the harmonious balance of proportions, testifying to the prestigious craftsmanship of one of the greatest Parisian silversmiths.
