"Empire Style Mahogany Secretary "
A Consulate period Empire secretary desk in mahogany and mahogany veneer. The uprights, adorned with pilasters decorated with caryatids and gilt bronze rings, rest on two ball feet at the rear and two claw feet at the front. It features a drawer at the top, two doors in the lower section, and a drop-front. The drawer pulls are in the form of lion's head finials. The lower doors open to reveal a large drawer and a shelf. The drop-front opens to reveal a nine-drawer compartment and a shelf. A key is included. The top is of veined black marble. Finished with a French polish.
