Gilt Bronze Fire Screen – Louis XV – 19th Century
Gilt Bronze Fire Screen – Louis XV Style – 19th Century. An important, finely chased gilt bronze fire screen in the Louis XV style, dating from the 19th century. With its serpentine shape, it features rich rocaille ornamentation composed of scrolls, shells, and foliage, typical of Louis XV decor. The center is adorned with a gilt bronze motif depicting two winged cherubs surrounding a flaming brazier, an allegorical symbol, applied to a finely woven metal grid. The whole rests on four cabriole feet with scrolls, ensuring stability and elegance. The quality of the chasing, the fineness of the details, and the beautiful gilding give this screen a remarkable decorative presence, whether placed in front of a fireplace or displayed alone as a statement piece.
