In the 1970s, he developed an innovative technique: emulsion, a process that combines marble dust and pure pigments with egg white. Throughout his career, Jacques Deshaies, who passed away in 2005, was drawn to light, which he captured with great sensitivity. He often depicted the landscapes of Normandy and the South of France, using a palette dominated by deep ochres and intense blues. Jacques Deshaies, originally from Sassy near Falaise (Calvados), lived in Bernières-sur-Mer. His family has preserved his studio intact and organizes guided tours to better understand his artistic approach and his famous emulsion technique.
