A classic and beautiful bronze with a nuanced brown patina, depicting the famous Borghese Gladiator, a Hellenistic sculpture representing a warrior in combat, attributed to Agasias of Ephesus, preserved by the Borghese family, acquired by Napoleon in 1807, and now in the Louvre. A high-quality 19th-century work with a lovely patina, it rests on a Siena yellow marble base, itself supported by a wooden plinth with a faux marble and gilt bronze finish.
