A wonderful pair of Shahsaven Maffrash fragments originating from Persia. Maffrash are the largest carrying pouches formerly used by the nomadic populations of Persia and the Caucasus. These are the two large panels that faced each other. Exquisitely crafted. Make no mistake, this pair represents the pinnacle of refinement in weaving and exquisite craftsmanship. The motif, composed of stylized floral patterns in successive oblique bands, is extremely rare.
