Pair Of Carved Wooden Armchairs – Neoclassical Style / Early 19th Century

Pair of carved wooden armchairs – Neoclassical style / early 19th century. Elegant pair of mahogany armchairs, featuring an openwork medallion back with a central decoration of a stylized vase of flowers, emblematic of the neoclassical ornamental vocabulary. The lines are clean, balanced, and refined, typical of the Directoire or Empire period. The gently curved armrests rest on molded supports. The tapered legs are delicately carved with discreet vertical motifs, lending lightness and elegance to the whole. The seats have recently been reupholstered in a light fabric (seafoam green/celadon), offering a luminous contrast with the warm patina of the wood.
