KNIFE called Aikushi, signed Kadomatsu saku kore
Japan - Edo period (1603-1868)
Steel, wood, lacquer, silver
Nagasa: 51.7; Nakago: 14.2 cm
(Previously restored)


Kata kiri ha blade, mune hikushi, ito suguha hamon.
Ko maru boshi.
Nakago funa gata and kiri or kaku ichi monji, signed ‘Kadomatsu saku kore’ (made by Kadomatsu) on one side and marked ‘Jō-saku’ (superior quality work) on the other.
Copper habaki covered with silver.
Wooden saya covered with black lacquer, decorated with three gold leaf-patterned diamonds.
Kuri gata and Koi guchi in lacquered buffalo horn.
Tsuka ito made of wood, covered with black lacquer, decorated with two diamonds with gold leaf patterns.
Mekugi made of silver.
