"Agathon Leonard Two Dancers"
Agathon Leonard, Dancer at the Cothurnus and Dancer with Raised Arm. Two gilded bronzes by the artist Agathon van Weydevelt. He studied at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris. His best works are the two dancers. They were designed in 1895 and cast in bronze in 1900. A later model in 1897, "The Game of the Scarf," was inspired by the dancer Loir Fuller and was exhibited at the World's Fair in Paris. Signed: A. Leonard and founder Susse Frères Paris
