Sleeping Young Woman
Artist: Paul Louis Loiseau-rousseau
A student of Antoine-Louis Barye at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris, he exhibited for the first time at the Salon in 1886.[2] Due to health problems and financial difficulties, he had to leave the Beaux-Arts. He then attended evening classes with the sculptor Théophile Barrau and only exhibited small-format works at the Salons, which were well received. He obtained a grant in 1892, which allowed him to travel to Africa. He would later be considered a talented artist of Orientalist sculpture.
