19th-century Collection Of Glass Monstrances
An exceptional collection of blown glass monstrances, bent using hot pliers. These containers originally served to indicate that passersby were in front of a pharmacy. The bottles contained plants… Later, all faculties and factories adopted them to display the collections they imported (wool, seeds, coffee, etc.). They measure 22 cm high and 10 cm in diameter. Originally sealed with paraffin, they were later more easily sealed with a cork stopper. Numbering 12 plus 1 (which has a chip on its base), these generously sized bottles are filled with cotton for protection and will be packaged with the utmost care.
