Provencal Wardrobe
(AVAILABLE IMMEDIATELY)
This imposing Provençal wardrobe embodies all the charm of furniture from the South of France. With its harmonious lines, warm wood, and meticulous finish, it brings a touch of authenticity and elegance. Both robust and offering ample storage space, it becomes a true centerpiece in any décor.
Authentically dating from the 18th century, it features a gendarme's hat cornice, finely carved decoration, and snail feet mounted on small sabots. Its rich ornamentation and the exceptional quality of the French walnut wood, with its nuanced and warm hues, are truly remarkable.
Specifications:
Height 271 cm, Width of the wardrobe 150 cm, including the cornice 170 cm. Depth of the wardrobe: 62 cm.
The three-panel molded sides highlight the quality of the craftsmanship. The pediment is adorned with a basket, birds, and oak leaves. The lower rail features the same carved, openwork foliage, embellished with a lyre. The central panel is finely carved with a decoration of flowers, foliage, and ribbon bows. The door hardware (strap hinges) is particularly long, extending the full height of the doors. The medallion doors are carved with shell-shaped foliage motifs. The keyhole escutcheons with their chiseled designs complete the rich ornamentation of the doors. The original lock functions perfectly. The interior comprises three shelves, one with two large drawers and a small secret drawer.
The finish is a waxed filler on light walnut. This cabinet has been fully restored in our workshop, respecting the wood and 18th-century traditions.
