Console-style Backsplash
A console table in patinated oak and light walnut, decorated with carved knots, garlands, scrolls, capitals, and flowers. In the Henri II style, the cabinet opens with two molded, arched, and carved doors, joined by brass hinges, revealing its open shelves. The wide, projecting cornice rests on two fluted, carved, molded, and turned spindle columns connected to the console top. The console itself opens with a drawer in the front, lavishly adorned with floral garlands, and rests on two front fluted, carved, and turned columns, joined at the curved base on four toupie feet. The back is paneled and molded. A warm patina and fine quality of woodwork highlight the architectural character of the piece, typical of late 19th and early 20th-century living room furniture.
