Art Nouveau Brooch In Solid Silver With A Thistle Motif, Attributed To André Kauffer Circa 1900
"Art Nouveau solid silver brooch with thistle, Attributed to André Kauffer circa 1900" Antique solid silver brooch representing a thistle, emblematic motif of Art Nouveau, treated with a very accomplished naturalism. The finely cut and veined leaves, with their serrated edges and sculptural form, attest to the high quality of the goldsmithing. The composition, both dynamic and balanced, is fully in keeping with the organic and symbolist aesthetic of the late 19th century. Through its style, the quality of the chasing, and the choice of the plant motif, this brooch can be attributed to André Kauffer, a jeweler and goldsmith renowned for his Art Nouveau silver creations inspired by flora. This is a stylistic attribution, as there is no signature. It has an antique, functional pin fastening system. Dimensions: Length: 55 mm Width: 20 mm Condition: Very good overall condition. Hallmarks on the pin hook are illegible. As the colors are more accurately rendered in video, we can send you a presentation via WhatsApp upon request.
