64-slice Kabuto Of A Samurai From The Kimura Clan - Edo Period (1603-1868).
JAPAN - Edo Period (1603-1868). KABUTO composed of 64 wrought iron strips. THEHEN NO ANA (opening at the top) in patinated and gilded copper with five tiers depicting a 10-petaled open flower. SHIKORO (neck guard) with two wide tiers in glossy black lacquered wrought iron and blue silk braid (minor lacquer losses), the lower tier covered in gilded leather. FUKIGAESHI (small wings) in wrought iron covered in black leather bearing the mon of the Kimura clan. MABI SA SHI (visor) in black lacquered wrought iron (losses) and decorated in bas-relief in chased metal with chrysanthemums and foliate scrolls. Dimensions: 23 x 36 x 37 cm. Sold with the base.
