Daum Vase With A Tapered Shape And An Acid-etched Decoration Of Orange Flowers, 59cm.
Artist: Daum
We are pleased to present a superb Daum vase: tapered shape with a flared rim, decorated with an acid-etched design of delicate flowers from the Campanulaceae family, commonly known as bellflowers for a simple reason: their bell-shaped blooms. The vase is orange in color, while the body features leaves of a bright, light green. The darker base bears the inscription: "L'Union Syndicale de l'Alimentation A Monsieur HOULARD" (The Food Trade Union To Mr. Houlard). In the early 20th century, it was customary to offer an exceptional gift to one's "boss" upon retirement! Under the base is an old label from the shop where this superb vase was sold: "Objet d'Art à NANCY" (Art Object in Nancy). The vase is in perfect condition! Height 59cm, neck diameter 4cm, and base diameter 12.5cm. Provenance: estate sale.
