Firefighters' Sabre of the National Guard, Firefighters of the Cantonal and Municipal Guards, July Monarchy. Brass hilt with a Gallic rooster motif, pommel molded in the shape of a rooster's head. Straight crossguard with a central section molded in relief with the head of the Nemean lion; on each side, the quillons are decorated with palmettes and terminate in lion heads. Fullered blade with a saw-toothed back. Black waxed leather scabbard with two brass mounts, the inner edges of which are scalloped. July Monarchy, 19th century.
